FM Eric Rodriguez crashed through, in more ways than one. In his second GOTW nomination, he wins top honors thanks to his violent attack against GM-elect Irina Krush's king. Rodriguez is only the second non-GM to win the award in the 2013 season. Though Black could have held with perfect defense, the task was not easy by any means, and White was rewarded for his bravery and tenacity. Sometimes you have to take some chances to get a big reward!
