Today GM Dejan Bojkov highlights Dr Tarrasch's contributions to chess theory, in particular, his own defense against 1.d4. Tarrasch had very original ideas about pawn play and positional principals, in comparison to his contemporaries. His theories on the strength of an Isolated Queen Pawn were progressive to say the least, and his game with the legendary Marshall is a great example this.
