Was a very active club player in the period from late 70's to about 1996. Then stopped being a research student and began fulltime employment. Much more an occasional OTB player now. When do so is at tournaments like SouthEnd Open, South Lakes Open, Major Open and others at the British Championship and most recently High Wycombe Open run by e2e4. Look for phleasant tournaments like those run by e2e4, and avoid dire venues like that for the Bristol League Congress.
