Hi, I´m a mathematical and theoretical physicist from Vienna. My field of research are complex dynamical systems and applied mathematics. I used to play a lot of chess during the period from 1990-2000 [open tournaments and club tournaments; training sessions with IM Banas from Slowakia; I also met Kasparov, Karpov, Kramnik, Smyslov, Geller, Polugajewski, Larsen, Korchnoi, Léko and the Polgar sisters]. My OTB rating then was 2175 and my [unofficial] rapid chess rating was 2370. Due to my academic career I had to give up OTB chess and stopped playing chess for about 8 years. Thanks to the internet and chess.com I´am now able to enjoy this wonderful game and play competitive chess again. My all-time favourite player is Vasily Smyslov.
