Bio
Olga Girya is a Russian woman grandmaster and the 2019 national champion. She was a part of the gold-medal-winning Russian team in the 2014 Women’s Chess Olympiad and the 2017 Women’s World Team Chess Championship. Also, she picked up individual gold medals on board four in the 2013 and 2015 Women’s World Team Chess Championship.
Earlier in her career, Girya won gold for the U18 girls division at the World Youth Chess Championships and the European Youth Chess Championships in 2009, and she also won the Russian girls U20 championship the following year.
