Bio

Alisa Galliamova is a Russian international master and three-time national champion. In addition to her three Russian women’s championships (1997, 2009, 2010), she was the runner-up at the Women’s World Chess Championship events in 1999 and 2006.

Galliamova was also a member of two gold-medal winning teams in the 1992 Women’s European Team Chess Championship (Ukraine) and the 2010 Women’s Chess Olympiad (Russia). She had an impressive youth and junior career. Highlights included winning the World U16 Girls Championship in 1987 and 1998. Also in 1998, she took the World Junior (U20) Girls Chess Championship.
