The Bishop's Opening used to be called "The Truth" back in the 19th century. The main point is to develop the bishop to a good square while keeping open the option of f2-f4.
Pros:
- Less common
- Solid
- Does not block the f2-pawn
Cons:
- Does not put immediate pressure on Black
- The bishop could come under attack by ...d5
