Hello! My name is Sourish Kavale, and I am a 10th grader at Walton High School in Marietta, GA. I started playing chess when I was 5 years old, and I played my first tournament at the age of 8. As a professional chess player with over 8 years of experience, I have participated in over 200 tournaments across 3 countries and 10+ states.

I am a USCF-certified Class A player, and I earned the AIM (Arena International Master) title from FIDE in June 2024. Throughout my chess career, I have won over 50 awards, including 6 trophies at state championships (2018 NC Scholastic, 2018 NC Closed, 2019 NC Scholastic, 2019 GA Grades, 2019 GA Class, 2020 GA Grades) and 2 at US Nationals (2019, 2021). Futhermore, I am the #2 tenth grader and #13 high schooler in the state of Georgia (georgiachess.org/Top_Scholastic_Players).

My favorite chess book is Candidates Tournament, Zurich 1953 by David Bronstein, which I read in 7th grade. Outside of my own games, I follow notable chess players such as Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, & Levy Rozman. I was also part of a chess video with 142K+ views! (youtu.be/ldCUM6-fh48)

I can fluently speak and understand English, Hindi, and Marathi. It would be preferred if you can understand at least one of these languages in order to comprehend material taught in my sessions.
