Education & development of chess skills. Preference is given to the more serious part of growth as a chess player, regardless of one's current rating. We would like to pair players to assist in their chess growth. Many like to play only without chat or lengthy communication.That's okay, too, and can be a part of this group.But let's take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about chess from our peers and more skilled players.Chess is fun, mentally relaxing and even seriously challenging. But it's also a skill which should require some kind of rhyme and reason. Therein lies much more of the joy of the game- seeing a dutiful plan unfold and tactics which fall in place and bring positive results. We're Spartans, after the ancient Greek city-state, which took the training of its young men, and women, seriously and where formal education was emphasized more than anywhere else in the Greek world.Let's hear from you and help each other grow in chess!
