Tobey Maguire To Play Bobby Fischer?
Spiderman star Tobey Maguire (pictured) could be set to take on the role of Bobby Fischer in a planned biopic of the controversial American chess genius.
Firstshowing.net reports that the project, called Pawn Sacrifice, is written by Steven Knight and focuses on the iconic Fischer v Spassky match in 1972 which captivated the world with its rich cold war symbolism.
If the film sees the light of day it should be a considerably higher profile affair than the previous Fischer biopic 'Bobby Fischer Live' which made little impact with mainstream audiences.
