The 2020 PRO Chess League season is just around the corner, and with more teams than ever interested in qualifying for the world's only global rapid online chess league, the league will be expanding the number of qualifiers to four.

The first qualifier is scheduled for this September, with the other three to follow in October and November.

For the first time in league history, select teams will have multiple opportunities to qualify and take center stage each week in front of thousands of passionate fans on Twitch.tv/Chess and Chess.com/TV.

The 2018 and 2019 semifinalists Armenia and Chengdu both earned their way into the PRO Chess League through the qualifiers.

The qualifiers are slated to take place on September 24, October 8, October 22 and November 5.

Submissions for the first qualifier event are currently being accepted, so if you think your team has what it takes to square off against some of the top players in the world, you can sign up by clicking here.

The deadline to register for these qualifiers is July 5, 2019, and with at most 16 teams being chosen to compete, interested teams are encouraged to submit their applications as early as possible. Teams who submit early will increase their likelihood of inclusion in the qualifiers as their applications will have more time for consideration by league administrators.

Think you have what it takes to be part of the world's most popular online chess league? You need more than a team of strong players.

Here are the attributes of top candidate teams:

1. Teams that are willing to stream on Twitch both during the qualifier and during the regular season.

2. Players who have an established presence across multiple video and streaming platforms.

3. Teams that plan to frequently use social media such as Twitter and Facebook for promotion.

4. Teams that plan to include strong and recognizable players in their lineup.

5. Teams that have a successful history of playing in the PRO Chess League.

6. Teams that are prepared to grow and be active in their Chess.com PRO Chess League Team fan club.

The Montreal Chessbrahs earned their spot in the PRO Chess League last year by dominating the 2019 qualifier.

Teams that feel they fit the criteria listed above are encouraged to submit their applications and will receive a response from a league representative by the deadline, July 5, 2019.

The PRO Chess League is growing and is looking for dedicated teams to grow alongside it. This is your chance to part in something unique in the chess world, the PRO Chess League.
