Celebrate International Women's Day With A Special Arena Tournament & Roundtable
March is Women's History Month, and to celebrate the impact that women have had—and continue to have—on the game of chess, we're hosting a special arena tournament and roundtable discussion featuring some of the leading women's voices in the game.
This event is hosted in collaboration with the Women in Chess Foundation and will take place on International Women's Day: March 8, 2024, from 12-3 p.m. ET/18:00-21:00 CET.
Roundtable Discussion Featuring Special Guests
The International Women's Day celebration will start with a roundtable at 12 p.m. ET/18:00 CET, shown live on Chess.com's Community Twitch channel.
Chess.com's Director of International Growth, Nigarhan Gurpinar (also known as Naycir on Twitch), will host the conversation alongside GM Pepe Cuenca.
Guests include Women in Chess Foundation President Emilia Castelao, international chess arbiter Judit Sztaray, content creator and chess player WCM Tallulah Roberts (lularobs), and professional sports broadcaster Kaja Snare.
The panel will discuss the ongoing progress of women in the chess world, the major issues that women still face, as well as inspiring and insightful stories based on the panel members' own experiences.
