Chess.com's first-ever Hand and Brain Team Battle will feature a sibling rivalry on October 2 at 6 PM PDT on Twitch.tv/AlexandraBotez, Twitch.tv/Chessbrah, Twitch.tv/GMNaroditsky and Twitch.tv/AndreaBotez.

Making their Team Battle debut, sisters WFM Alexandra Botez and Andrea Botez will fight against each other for a $1,300 prize fund in both blitz and bullet. Their partners, GM Daniel Naroditsky (Team Alex) and GM Eric Hansen (Team Andrea), will be joining the action.

Eric Hansen
GM Eric Hansen will attempt to lend his skill to his younger teammate and lead Team Andrea to victory

The match will last two hours, featuring both blitz and bullet time controls. Both grandmasters will try to guess their teammate's move, while only being prompted by a piece suggestion. Unlike past Team Battles, the players will be encouraged to trash talk during the games, meaning they will not be muted on the opposing team's turn.

The two teams will be aiming to take home their share of the $1,300 prize pool, with $800 going to the winning team and $500 going to the losers. This Team Battle's prize fund was generously provided by the Twitch user "maprail," an active chess supporter.

Alexandra Botez
Alexandra Botez will hope that her previous streams with GM Daniel Naroditsky will pay dividends on Wednesday.

This Team Battle will kick off a series of top player clashes, including USA vs Russia, Chess vs Poker, Ladies Battle, and more on Twitch.tv/Chess and Chess.com/TV later this year, ultimately leading to a Team Chess World Championship in mid-2020.
