Chess.com Makes Headlines Today!?

Two big announcements today!! Chess.com made major blogging headlines today when it was first picked up by Mashable.com, the #1 blog on social networking and the #14 most popular blog in the world! That started a cascade of coverage from other popular blogs including TechCrunch.com, which is the 4th most popular worldwide. Who knew!?

I'm not sure if we're totally ready for the potential traffic that might send, so if the site is slow for a few days - sorry!

The other HUGE NEWS we have is that we are launching Email Chess today! This is Chess.com version of correspondence chess (also called turn-based chess) where you play ansynchronously with your opponent. You make a move, then your opponent gets an alert to login and move, then you get an alert, etc. You can make your move at your pace - play a whole game in 5 minutes, or take it slow and move once every few days.

What are you waiting for!?

Invite your friends and beat them with all the new skills you have been learning at Chess.com!

Yes, I am the guy who started Chess.com (along with Jay, Igor, Piotr, and many others). I have 3 amazing daughters, one wild son, and a wonderful, patient wife! I learned chess when I was 8 years old. Since then I have been playing, studying, and enjoying it regularly. I prefer semi-open and closed positions that blow up tactically (like the Closed Sicilian, King's Indian, Glek etc).
