Chennai To Host Anand v Carlsen Match

FLASH REPORT

Eye-witnesses at the FIDE Presidential Board meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan (from 4-7 May 2013) say that Chennai, India has today been confirmed as the host city for the Anand v Carlsen match from 6-26 November 2013.

Magnus Carlsen and his advisors had been unhappy for the venue to be decided without any bidding process being undertaken, and recently issued a formal complaint about the matter. It seems that their complaint has either been ignored or dismissed.
