What a year this has been for chess! We have not one, but two world championship challengers as the World Champion Magnus Carlsen stepped away from the competition. A new wave of talent from Uzbekistan, India, and other countries took the world by storm in the Olympiad. GM Hikaru Nakamura became the second Fischer Random World Champion...

And on top of that, online chess is stronger than ever! Chess content creators are catching the media's attention like never before—think Botez sisters making it onto Forbes' 30 Under 30 list. And chess events went massive, with the Chess.com Global Championship, a stacked Speed Chess Championship, and the Candidates leading the way.

But what were the best things involving chess in 2022? That's for you to decide!

It's time to cast your vote for the 2022 Chess.com Awards! If a particular game has blown you away or if you really appreciated all the hard work of your favorite content creator, now is the time to let the world know. This year, you can cast a vote for any (or all) of the following categories:

  • Game of the Year
  • Player of the Year
  • Rising Star
  • Tournament of the Year
  • Creator of the Year
  • Commentator of the Year
  • Move of the Year
  • Computer Game of the Year
  • Book of the Year

Fill out the official Chess.com Awards form below to cast your vote. You don't need to vote for all categories, but we'll award 10 diamond memberships (one 1-year, four 6-months, five 3-months) to random respondents who vote for all the categories. Voting closes on December 31, so make sure you cast your vote today!

Please note that we had to make some small adjustments to the voting form after we published it this morning. We apologize to those who voted between 10:00 a.m. and 10:09 a.m. PT, and we kindly ask them to vote again.
