2008 DEP-ED MANILA CHESS MEET

Manila's Division of City Schools (DCS) emerged over-all champion in the 2008 Dep-Ed Manila Chess Meet held at the Arellano High School from November 18-20,2008.The DCS boys and girls team seized six of the fourteen gold medals staked,with both the elementary boys and girls contributing three golds each.2008 NCAA champion Letran High School finished second over-all with four golds.2008 UAAP Junior champion Adamson University managed only third with three golds while Chinese school league champion Philippine Cultural College got one gold. DCS Melwyn Kenneth Baltazar topped the Elementary Boys Division.Defending Palarong Pambansa Champion Jan Jodalyn Fronda ruled the High School Girls Division.
