I've been studying chess since 1987. I won my first game using the principle "get your pieces out fast" to win a game by early checkmate around 1985. although I had to be told I mated the angry and embarrassed opponent who wanted my head intellectually when I had already crushed him athletically. I was rather fast in my youth but not anymore. Now I study and play chess liking the teaching and analysis style of Nimzowitsch. i just can't evaluate positions like most folk are taught. ie by breaking down the position based on given factors like activity king safety etc., i find Nimzo's analyses style less demanding on my time. "is that a mobile phalanx going to crush me because I was to slow to try and slow him down or where can I find a place to blockade or will I be so treated?" sometimes it works other times I miss the simplest stuff to go on to lose after outplaying many early in the game. I like Van Halen it means you are either too young or too old if you don't appreciate them why else would someone pick Led Zepplin? discord tag (.achsah)
