⚓My Story⚓
I have been playing Chess since June 2018 & have been taking it seriously since August 2018. I am primarily self-taught using books, magazines, & online resources. I have reached a level that takes many decades to achieve & some never do.
At the age of 13, I played my first tournament, scoring 2.5/4 in the reserve section, a good score for a first-time tournament player. In February 2020, I played my first ever scholastic tournament at South Eugene High School, scoring an impressive 4/5 in the challenger's section and getting 3rd overall.
In March 2020, at the fourth tournament of my chess career, I played the Spring Open in Portland, Oregon & got clear first with a strong 3.5/4. Then my Chess journey was put on hold due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. I returned nearly 15 months later to the National Open in Las Vegas, Nevada, a tournament that boasted over 1100 entries, & tied for 3rd place.
In 2022 I participated in my first Oregon & Junior Closed championships. I secured clear second place in the Junior Closed with a nice 3.5/5 & performed as was expected in the Oregon Closed with being the lowest seed.
