Delmar Public Library Youth Chess Club

My name is Brian Banks, a.k.a. coachbrian. I am the founder and administrator of the Delmar Library Online Chess Club and a USCF-certified chess instructor. Our club promotes and teaches chess to kids and adults aged six and above in Delmar and the surrounding area. Our goal is to help people learn and improve their chess skills and to have fun.

Chess is more than just a game; it's a powerful educational tool that enhances critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and strategic planning. Studies have shown that students engaged in chess develop improved concentration, memory, and creativity. These cognitive skills acquired through chess transcend the game and prove invaluable in academic pursuits and real-life situations.
