There are some people that believe chess to be like any other board game, and play when the mood strikes them. There are some that dedicate themselves, playing nearly every day. And finally, there are some that have difficulty in their classes because they're pushing wood in their heads.
I am of the last classification; an addict, if you will.
I claim no particular strength in any opening, but I enjoy the intricacies of nearly any set of starting moves. I've yet to play in a real tournament.
A few of my favorite players are Bobby Fischer, Garry Kasparov, Viswanathan Anand, Magnus Carlsen, Josh Waitzkin, Judit Polgar and Vladimir Kramnik (Unless he plays the Petrov; it takes a little while to forgive him after that).
