Starting My Own Tournament - How?

Sort:
Graybeard

I'm fairly new to chess.com - I'm only in the middle of my 5th game.  But I've played a fair amount on other chess servers.  A few correspondence chess playing friends and  I want to play a small round-robin type tournament with each other and I'm the one to organize it.  I've not been able to play tournament chess here since I've not yet completed 5 games on this server so I'm not sure how tournaments work on chess.com.

I therefore have a couple of questions about setting up my own tournament:

a) it looks like it is possible to set up your own tournament here and make it invitation only - right?

b) is it possible for people to participate in my tournament even if they have not yet played 5 games on chess.com?

c) does the server provide organizational tools (i.e. make parings for your, maintain stats, etc.) or do I need to do that myself?

Any help you can give would be much appreciated.  Thanks. Smile

Well, when I do that nothing happens.  I kind of assumed that was because I've not yet played the needed 5 games on this site to play tournaments.  Or not?

I've got this problem too.  I have played 5 matches though and it still won't let me create.

This is very annoying because I am coaching a school and want to set up a small leauge so that we can keep track of player rankings and so that I know what to teach them.  Please can someone help me.
