Setting to see coordinates on every square

I think it would be very helpful for beginner being able to have option to see coordinates on every single square of the board. And i don't think it's hard to implement :)

Yes, I don't think many ~1200 players can call any coordinate immediately. Your question is kind of stupid tbh.

Putting them on every square is very distracting.  You have this "a2" in the background behind your pawn.  No need for that.

Just having a-h across the bottom, and 1-8 up the side, should easily be sufficient.  Think about graph paper.  If you draw an X-axis, and a Y-Axis, and mark the X-Axis 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and the Y-Axis 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, you don't then mark every point.  If you need to draw a dot at point (5, 4), you go to 5 at X and 4 at Y and mark the point they intersect.

Same concept.  If you move the Queen Pawn 2 squares on move 1, you don't need the square itself to show "d4".  Instead, you see the destination square is in Column d, Row 4, and so the move is "d4".  Black responds with high Knight to column f, Row 6, so you now have "Nf6".

If you can't observe which file and which rank a square intersects at, with the files and ranks labeled, at that point, you are talking sheer laziness.

First of all that would be optional, so if it's distracting for you no one forces you to use it.

Second, everyone knows there are 2 axis and you can always check coordinates, but I am talking about remembering coordinates of every square. Just like commentators and good players can instantly tell every move. That takes a lot of plactice, and checking Y and X axis every time is non efficient. Let's say you are observing commentary of high level game and you can't keep track of coordinates when comentators say them.

Hence having option to see every coordinate on every square would allow to get used to coordinates much faster and remember them.

What I'm saying is you do it like most tournament chess boards are.

Put A B C D E F G H across the bottom of the board for the player playing White and H G F E D C B A across the bottom of the board for the player playing Black.

You put 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 Down the left side of the board for the player playing White, and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Downt he left side of the board for the player playing Black.

That's what I'm saying.  In other words, if you are Black, it would show you the board coordinates from Black's perspective.

What you DO NOT need is the letter-number combination "a1" written within the a1 square.  You can figure out from the a down bottom and the 1 on the left-hand side that the square is a1, just like a normal roll-up tournament board.

Therefore, if you were White, it would look something like this:

and NOT as you are suggesting, which would be:

You'd have a freaking seizure looking at this, keeping in mind that a1 would have to be written in White, a2 in Black, a3 in White, a4 in Black, etc.

If they just add the letters across the bottom and the numbers up the side, it would easily be sufficient.

Not sure what you are saying here dude. Letters and numbers are already available on the board in the options and I use them just like you said. I am not retarded :P

But it's extremelly hard to keep track of chess commentary using only bottom and side coordinates to begginer player, he just can't keep up with it.

I feel ya man.  If I take a few moments I can find and tell you the square that so and so landed on but If, just due to repeatedly seeing it from both sides, black and white, coordinates on the full board I think it would be easier for me to picture where x square is when I hear it.  Just because it eliminates the need for me to go to the bottom and side and add it all up.

A big chunk of chess is memory. If you cannot quickly learn the squares, how do you expect to learn the REAL things that need to be remembered?

I got better by placing my black pieces on the 'white' side of my chess mat. Then I had no choice but to remember and learn.

Again I would like to say; I'm often surprised by the dumbass ideas people want to propose to this site.

True! But you have to realize if they started off playing chekers(not to be funny) then this could be confusing.... I am not defending it just explaining it. If they do not figure out how to get past this than chess is clearly not their game. Just to save you from getting frustrated here.

The longer your at Chess.com the more your mental health will decline. If you are already here then you are a Chess Addict! Already took your first puff of the Chess Pipe or sniffed that Chess Stuff from the game. Too late everbody including your family and friends know. It might be virus as it spread around from one person to another who knows as it is already too late for us and we nolonger care!

I have been playing for years. If your looking for that to happen.... not at chess.com. Not sure which chess site has that on the internet.

Idea. Pull out your chess board and set up the pieces. Set up the board with your marked squares and have at it. Pull out a chess game from a book or etc and see if you can duplicate the moves from the game. Get to the point where you do not  the squares marked on the board.

When you come back do not mention this subject and if somebody brings it up ignore them no matter what they say. Like NIKE quote says "JUST DO IT". It will make it easier for you to play all the free activites as Ches.com and easier for us to communicate with you about chess. Save yourself and us frustration!

Learning the coordinates is like learning to use the handlebars when you ride a bike; absolutely necessary and easy with a little practice.

So apparently it's dumb idea  Don't know but I was playing chess for several years now casually and still have very hard time keeping with moves when high level player commentates or describes the game. 

And for someone who said it would waste a lot of memory, ar you serious? :D How can some numbers on the board make any significant different, especially considering that 90% of users probably would not be using it.
