Why is Vote Chess (VC) such a low priority at chess.com?

For me and many others, VC is one of the most entertaining things you can do on this site. It allows players of all skill levels to contribute and learn from each other. For me, it's at least as important a feature as playing, solving puzzles or following tournaments, which is why I'm surprised it's such a low priority.

For years, VC has suffered from various bugs. They are diligently reported, but nothing seems to happen. If a bug is finally removed, you can be certain that a new one has appeared.

Anand versus the World was certainly pretty high visibility.

It seems the comments judged the experience to be pretty much of a failure since the coaches were reportedly invisible to or at least ignored by most people.

@justbefair: Yes, these kinds of games are mostly a gimmick. At least with the current setup, where the discussion with so many players fills an enormous number of pages that no one can read through. At the very least, the coaches' contributions should have been highlighted in some way.

Regular VC between clubs, on the other hand, is a pleasure - except for the bugs.

The main reason could be that it's not profitable because you can't really compete in professional tournaments since anti-cheating detection is probably impossible for VC. The same applies to daily chess. Therefore there will never be cash prize tournaments in these categories. But I agree with you, it's very entertaining and I hope it stays in the current format or even an improved format.

I am pretty much retired from OTB play due to age (77) and somewhat limited in activity due to bladder cancer surgery. I do enjoy being president of my Chess club, analyzing games for friends of all levels, teaching kids/beginners, playing in individual correspondence (ICCF and USCF) tournaments and in vote Chess competitions. Vote Chess is a geat way to learn more about openings whether you are exploring a new opening/defence or belonging to a group that is dedicated to playing a favorite defence/opening. The bottom line is that VC adds greatly to my Chess enjoyment. I get it that younger/newer players want to test their mettel on an individual basis. That is certainly OK, of course. Nevertheless, other than the cameraderie that one gets from VC, it still is a great way to even develop one's middlegame and endgame skills.
