Unacceptable irresponsible and negligent to lock serious feedback topic without a relevant response

Money often conflicts with logical morals, and the latter is my only concern here. It doesn't take a greedy person to spot greed. I'm glad they changed something about new accounts being able to post images. I do wish they communicated more about it.

Communication from the site in general is one of the most frustrating experiences here. Sometimes just getting an answer to a simple and valid question is met with snarky and or dismissive responses.

What do reports look like on the moderators end?

Snarky dismissive response: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/site-feedback/there-should-be-a-way-to-report-threads#comment-96814583

Even when a member is asking for an explanation from support as to why they have been muted. The response is a generic, "We are sorry, you have been unmuted" , no explanation why unless you spend two weeks of email exchanges pressing for an answer.

Proper communication from the site in general is lacking.

Pretty stunning the amount of entrepreneurs and business owners chiming in isn't it?

it is telling that, aside from offering compensation to martin, this is the only post you deem worthy of a response.

in a topic where members would like answers from staff/mods about site issues.

For years and years and years and years this site has fought tooth and nail against pretty much any and every outcry for change. To maximize profits at the expense of the user experience, always. CEO's in general get no sympathy from the public for good reason.

my post (like 1818's) is anecdotal and will surely be scrolled past by mods and staff. however, it is revealing.

i recently spoke with a returning member that has been here since almost the start of the site. said member hadn't been active for about a decade. this person had many choice words for how site functions have either remained the same or become worse. the example i remember was that there is a character limit in the chat for daily games. i hadn't noticed at the time, but, sure enough, he was right. while other sites work to move forward, a little thing like game chat being restricted means a lot, and is a big fail.

Have you heard the one about class consciousness only being achievable by the proletariat?

I fail to see how asking for or complaining about customer service could be considered a Marxism-related issue by any reasonable person. It seems more like an overreaching attempt to appear smart. Did you just learn about this recently? That's usually how it goes with kids...they learn something new and imagine they are the only ones that know or understand it, as if it's their own personal discovery as opposed to something they absorbed elsewhere.

Don't project your limitations onto others, please.

You say this likes it means something, but it's baseless posturing. You'll note that you were the one definitively projecting onto others here, which is why I called you out in the first place.

I've missed you, too, since Elroch blocked me.

Sack_o_Potatoes

theres much simpler solutions to this such as filters or time before access to clubs and forums after an account being made

Well, since I never really saw much reason to desire your approval, I can't say I'm deeply grieved by not being the favorite of you sagacious gentlemen.

I guess it would be like a salary where it’s just a fixed amount of pay regardless of hours worked

Assuming the site decided to pay existing mods, it would likely be reported time, though it's really hard to track it when it might be spread throughout the day.

A set stipend could work, though it would probably be variable based on overall activity.

What about commendable checks, based ones help?

Alright how much money will that be in one check? 100s? 1000s? It will depend if it’s monthly, weekly, or daily

"Have you heard the one about class consciousness only being achievable by the proletariat"? If Erik wanted a chess site that appeals to the Romans,....he would of created one THEN.

My point was that you shouldn't be surprised when moderators show a lack of self awareness about their 'customer service' performance. Some of them seem to consider themselves above addressing the experiences of the typical user, and only interact to justify the hierarchy that exists to serve the interests of the chess.com upper class. 4k's comment was only denigratory, and as a moderator he represents the site. It's untypical for representatives of a particular social or business arrangement to be conversant with or concerned about the inequities embodied in that arrangement.

Do you mean "atypical"?

You have rather grandiose ideas about the forums. A whole social class system complete with government bureaucracy?

That's right
