There should be a way to report threads.

More wonderful content from the Chess.com community.

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/my-sister-is-wearing-a-bikini

https://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/i-see-my-sisters-butt-crack

I wonder how much more offensive this person needs to get before something is done about it?

Gregg-Turkington

I think the report button has the opposite effect of its intended use.

There are no rules in the Off Topic Forum.

Users can create new usernames every three months (or more) without proof of need or documentation.

The Terms of Service (ToS) and Community Policy are of no importance on the Off Topic Forum.

The prisoners run the prison.

Kinda makes me wonder if these reports go to moderators, and if the moderators are actually the trolls?

I actually reported that drab, but I'm mad baffled why the mod hadn't closed it, for sure! =/

Mad baffled? Kiss, kill or marry is a very popular game for young children, perhaps fifth to sixth graders in the US. I would suspect that variations are popular all over the world.

So far it hasn't resulted in any known deaths.

Encouraging, promoting, and allowing young children of the world to engage in a "popular game" on Chess.com where one of the answers is "KILL".

Sounds like a wonderful blueprint for the future.

Sounds like a wonderful and family-friendly chess site where our children can learn about chess and joke about killing.

I'm pretty sure that @TheWildEeper is @pools2013.

Chess.com does not want that to happen because might require them to do something about this. They supposedly have filters to notify moderators, but it appears that "kill, murder, stab, poison, rape, etc." are not part of those filters.

Sometimes, if you ignore problems they’ll go away.

YOUNG SAILOR: "Hey Captain, we are taking-on water in a massive way below deck!"

CAPTAIN: "Don't worry about that sailor, the bilge pumps can keep-up with that problem"

(moments later)

CAPTAIN: "Abandon ship! Abandon ship! Abandon ship! We are sinking! Who was manning the bilge pumps?"

YOUNG SAILOR: "Sir... you told us not to worry about that!?!?"

That must be why this thread is still around. Or maybe this is what chess.com considers quality content.

Wow... that one was actually removed.

I did lock that one. You could have just reported it.

Report it and wait three days for action while the thread continues to grow?

Why lock it, when you should just delete it?

Locking it only provides others with a blueprint for more bad behavior.

For the most part, topics do not get deleted.

When is this gonna get locked Martin?

It better be now!

According to this link, there are 104 Moderators on Chess.com. Yet there are still not enough moderators to handle the load of ToS and Community Policy violations, and based on this thread, not enough Moderators to even address one person who repeatedly reported a post that there are concerned with.

With every ToS and Community Policy violation that is allowed to remain in the Forums and Clubs, Chess.com promotes and encourages this type of activity.

@Martin_Stahl Is there a reason why you are ignoring me and the issue of multiple racial slurs from the same member?

Martin_Stahl

I moderate when and where I have time to do so. While I edited a single post and saw some other posts that had been edited, I don't have the time to dig deeper than that to see what other actions may have been taken already.

AbyssalSludge

The mods don't care. They aren't even getting pay, so why should they care if those threads roam about? And I can guarantee that almost all of them are trolls. @justbefair, when I asked why my climate change thread got locked, said that "they say it should stay locked, since the OP said 'no politics or religion', yet didn't enforce it". That is a downright lie, as I did block one person in the lifetime of that thread.

AbyssalSludge

I have reported people in such threads that are clearly violating TOS. Nothing happens. Yet I get my thread locked because of the incompetent mods.

Sir_TrashPanda

How can I report a thread like this when one of the important words in the title will result in punishment for me if I send a think to a mod?
