New Puzzles “Instructor”

The new puzzles “instructor” is a massive distraction and there is no way to turn it off? I’m so confused why this was added and why it cant be removed.

It takes up a third of the screen. It’s incredibly annoying. Who asked for this?

There's going to be a setting added to disable that

What the hell happened to the puzzles? This new feature is terrible. How can I turn it off

If you mean the Puzzle Path option, there's a settings icon at the top to turn it off. If you mean the coach, there's currently not an option to turn that off.

Good example of useless innovation, some developer or program manager justifying their existence with a "good idea." Terrible. On the other hand, I guess it does provide you with training under annoyance...

Was just going to post about this - the stupid animation is a hugely distracting. Gonna switch to the browser and just block the element.

... or just switch to chesstempo, honestly.

ETA: ah, the website version still doesn't have the "instructor"! Problem solved, for now. Clearly the devs just want to kill the app (:<

There's a new iOS app version that has removed the coach on puzzles for now

I want chess.com to add a option to disable the coach on lesson in iOS app

Agree with what has been stated above. Miss the efficiency and minimalism of the previous puzzles UI.

Will definitely not renew my premium subscription as the puzzles was one of the main reasons I subscribed in the first place.

No option to disable this new path nonsense. When you’ve been puzzling for ages and your rating is the motivation you have years of progress just disappeared. Suddenly the membership seems pointless

There should be a settings icon on the top of the feature. There's a toggle there to turn it off

That said, your rating is still changing when doing the puzzles in the feature.

Afraid not in my version of IOS just to stop collecting points or show timer. Same options in settings from main menu

Stop collecting points turns off the new puzzle feature and goes back to regular puzzles.

Come on Chess.com get rid of the coach/instructor. PLEASE provide an option to turn it off. What a massive waste of screen space and distraction that thing is.

As you add highly questionable innovation go the full way and let it default off with a setting. You’ll soon see the merit of the innovation; as people turn it on and keep it there. Be brave.

If new features were off by default, very few people would ever be aware of them.
