Chess.com's policies are very effective in preventing flame wars

Chess.com is very good about keeping a safe and friendly environment for everybody. Just look at these active threads. No flaming at all in their 9 years of discussing controversial nonpolitical and nonreligious issues. To my knowledge, only several users have been blocked, muted, banned or voluntarily closed their accounts because of the friendly discussions that have been ongoing there.

You also see very little flaming in the many person above you threads, cheating accusations, game is rigged threads, and threads about personal depression that are now a staple of the website's forums.

Compare that to the egregious hostility of the following threads, which chess.com moderators were obliged to lock immediately, protecting the community from unwarranted hate.

Chess.com is doing a wonderful job of protecting its users from experiencing unwanted emotional impacts on the site. Keep up the great work!
