Chess.com should add a button that asks your opponent if they want to resign

Sometimes when my opponent is in a losing position and they have absolutely no counterplay (like if you have a King and a Queen and they have just their King, or when I am up a few pawns or a rook in an endgame), they don't resign for some reason and they don't respond to my chat messages telling them to resign, which just ends up wasting both of our time. I think chess.com should add a button on the right of the resign button called "Nudge", which sends your opponent a pop-up which asks them if they want to resign. Nudging opponents would be very useful for when your opponent doesn't realize they are in a losing position because when you use this they might realize that they are losing and resign, which would save lots of time for both players. It would also be funny to spam this button at completely random moments.

The button to resign is already in the lower right corner.

No I mean like a button that you can press that makes a pop up that says your opponent asks you if you want to resign, kind of like offering a draw.

Interesting, but people might spam the button even when you’re not in a losing position.

Lol, well since there is a resign button it probably isn't necessary. I had someone telling me to resign because he didn't want to play it out, so I did not resign. It was rude for him to pester me about ending the game, because ya know he was just being so condescending about it. So, I turned my chat off for 3 months because of it.

Yes, I understand... I was trying to be polite happy.png

Let your opponent play on... it's how they learn. If you don't want to play on you can always offer a draw and your opponent will be notified. If they don't accept you can resign. "Nudging" a user to resign will likely annoy your opponent (it would me). Nudging them in chat would also not be sportly.

Nudging might be a polite way of saying harass which is against the community policy.

If there is no counter play... I'm sure you'll have no problem quickly converting it to a win.

To I was losing by 13 points but came back took all the other guys pieces and accidentally stalemated him with just my queen and king if I had resigned when I was losing by 13 I would have lost not stalemated. maybe the people that dont resign are smarter than you think.
