Chess.com App on Onyx Boox (and possibly other e-ink devices)

Hi, I love e-ink devices as ebook readers, but lately also to play chess. Good example is Onyx Boox which is in fact an Android tablet. Of course some e-ink screen related limitations apply, but chess is absolutely playable as it is not very screen-dynamic game (I know some bullet players would disagree wink.png).

Unfortunately seems that Chess.com android app has some issues on Boox and possibly other e-ink screens. Some text is simply not visible. In example Settings / Board / Figurine Notation opens a window, which is empty except of three radio buttons (but with no option labels visible). It happens here and there in various, similar option windows in the app.

Any chance to correct that?

My guess is that the site won't directly support such devices but you could ask support and see.

Thanks, I may do that.

It is probably some small thing to improve, as basically such device is a regular android tablet. Most Play store apps are working, of course assuming they are not too dynamic with the screen.

I also had the same problem with my boox device.
Did you figure out how to mitigate this issue?

Well, I wrote to Chess.com support and got completely ignored. Solution is simple - start using Lichess. It works flawlessly. But to be honest I'am pissed that I cannot get a service I pay money for on my favorite device, simply because an app is wrongly written on color schema. I do not think I will be renewing Chesss.com subscription for next year, as I spend most time on Boox and Lichess now - although forced, Lichess seems very valid alternative + it is free.
