I'm sorry for seeing this three years after the fact. For all I know you may already have started your scholastic chess club. However if not, I just want to encourage you in that if the idea came to you, you are (by all means) the right man for the job.
You obviously saw a need for this in your community and see how such a program can have a profound impact on those you want to teach. Many times plans of execution come after the ideas. Let God be your lead in this dance.

Live in a small town USA and thinking of starting a scholastic club, I know the rules and have about 1500 ucf rating. I have never taught chess before and looking for hints and pointers to help.
