I've tried Googling but haven't found a lot of info on the inclusivity of special needs in scholastic chess/ tournaments, or tools and accommodations to help even the playing field
For example, my son has diagnosed anxiety and part of that stems from his writing disability. I've looked and looked for a notation pad that has something like check boxes instead of lines to write notation on. Since he can't use any kind of devices to speak his notation to, he's not been able to notate his games.
It just seems like there isn't a lot of flexibility for kids with different needs.
Does anyone have any suggestions or a direction to point me in for these kinds of things?
The USCF has some accomodations for things like that. Not 100% sure that would be covered but it probably would.
A MonRoi device might be an option, or something like it. He may also be excused from notation.
