If it's a school club then they usually don't get to exist without some adult figure offering their time.

Just be grateful you have a club. Maybe next year she'll have picked up a few things about chess.

I tried to start a chess club at my school and got the worst beating of my life.

In a chess game or from the guys on the football team?

To the original poster- be happy you have a club and a place to play.  This is very likely extra work for no extra pay for the school librarian, who was hired for her library science skills, not her ability as a chess coach.  You might check to see if there is an adult chess club in your community, they might have some resources for scholastic chess, or even someone who might volunteer some time.

And while I am up on my soapbox, it seems the librarian also hasn't shown you how to consult a dictionary or a grammar, which might be a more urgent task considering the condition of your post .

From the knuckle-draggers on the football team, and not at the chessboard! The shoe's on the other foot now, though: those swaggering neanderthals have since grown up and realized that in the real world women won't look twice at a man with an ELO under four figures.

Ugh... my librarian forbids playing chess in the library, because it's a game... seriously. o_o

"How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is
to have a thankless child!"

Away, away, you foolish child!  Be glad that you have someone at your school who actually gives a crap about the intellectual development of the students. This person could easily say, "Let someone else do it," and not have to deal with whiny malcontents like yourself.

This person sounds more like the "sponsor" for the club.  Depending on your school's policies, most clubs need a sponsor to exist on campus.

I like it when a librarian whips off her glasses, and lets her hair down and shakes it around, and looks all hot.

Take a look at this video. My favorite is the chemistry teacher!

Maybe this librarian type knows enough about chess.
