My highest 5 minute puzzle rush is 31. My goal before middle school starts is to break 40 in 5 minute. Can you give me tips on how to break 40? I want my USCF to be over 1500 but coronavirus is saying no .

If you want to score like Jimis98, you have to play puzzle rush 10 times more than you do.

You have only 661 attempts. Jimis98 has 5598 attempts.

That number may seem daunting but who has more free time than a 10 year old?

I puzzle rush about 20 times a day now, but thanks for the advice man!

It's great that you are doing it 20 times a day! But if you want to improve even more from each puzzle rush, I recommend that you be extra deliberate in your training. From what I know, the puzzles between the 25th to the 40th still largely test your pattern recognition. In order to register those patterns more deeply, you should not only look at the solutions to the puzzles you got wrong, but replay it in your head about 5 to 10 times. Additionally, I suggest that the same be done for puzzles that were solved by luck :)

Thanks so much!!! I never knew a CM would come to my forum and post! I will listen to your advice and hopefully break 40.

That's a pretty high goal, because I am going to middle school next year and my goal is 20.

That's Survival, not 5 minute.

It's still nice.

I know. My regular puzzle rating is about 2100-2250, and solving 40 in 5 minute is almost impossible with such a measly puzzle rating. Puzzle#40 itself would probably range from 2300-2450. You would also need to think these all out in 5 minutes, which would be very complex. I think doing it in survival would be a nice first step. Then getting my puzzle rating up.
