Horse-Bishop Analysis

Hello everyone...

I have been learning chess since I was 4 years old...Now I'm 15..I want to improve my strategy a lot and update my blitz rating in a higher level...I'm general 1270-1330 in the rating.

So,I would like to have your opinion about two pieces....Bishop and horse!

Most people believe that horse is more useful because of it's peculiar move...However I have understood that bishop can be a very dangerous piece in attack..

I play very defensive chess, and I use the form of Fianketo to face the opponent's attacks. Many times, the bishop of Fianketo has helped me to win the games for both reasons.1)Usually,when i do Fianketo, the opponent want to eat my horses..He does it,and after that I shape a form that i devised, the one bishop next to the other in front of the king and behind the forward line of 2 soldiers. It's really practical form, that can deters the opponent's queen's attacks...2)Apart from that,I can be more flexible now, because the opponent in the beginning sacrifised his bishops to eat my horses and can't be fast in the attack and hit my defensive bishops because his horses are slower...And i can hit him in counter-attacks more easily.

To close up,I want to learn from more experienced players which is more powerful piece..The Horse or the bishop.I believe bishop for the reasons that analyzed you in the previous paragraph...I would like to hear your opinions. Thanks!

Here are some posters that have preceeded you in asking this question. You might find some information there. As far as specific questions about your playing style and typical structural patterns in your play, you should post some games so that people better than myself can give you input on them.
