Indicate what you promote that pawn to first, then if it happens to be a check, then add "+" .
Otherwise you could promote to a knight, Rook or Bishop -- which might not be check
also, the "#" symbol is reserved to show checkmate. All other checks use "+"
Hello everyone!
Long story short: I've recently been doing some research on chess notation (the format that PGN uses), and I've come to a few problems.
If a pawn promotes, it gets an =<whatever it promoted to> added on: f8=Q
If a piece gives check (or checkmate), it gets a + or #: Qa1+
And both of them are stated to be added on to the end.
But what if a pawn promotes and then gives check (or checkmate)? Would that be f8=Q+ or f8+=Q?
So my question is: is there any given order for extra things added on to the move itself?
Thanks in advance!
