Perhaps you should try Yahoo answers in the game section. There are several on there who claim to be kid's chess coaches.
Hi Eric, There are a couple of publications for kids that are good, one is Chess Life for Kids, it's the Official publication for the USCF. It's good. Also, Chess for children and Chess Tactics for Kids , by Murry Chandler and Helen Milligan are good.. Hope this helps.. As always, you are doing good thing here. Thanks. Am always interested in helping the kids...
I'm not a coach, but I'll tell my coach and I love the chesskid.com site, great idea!
Your Chess Truly,
Funandnice
Aloha Eric, I agree with the pubs mention, the other problem is getting them to log in and use their accounts. Placing links here at chess, com and other website's could help as well, Craigslist, etc.
So far has a little success in getting them to log in, even where they have "school computer centers" they rather play OTB then on-line. But its new and so word of mouth networking and coaches using them as part of their programs will bring some, a little at time. Parents the ones that have time and home schooling may be the one more interested as that is who indicted the most interest.
Plus I hope you got that password issue I mention (twice) to you when changing the password at chesskid.com. there will bugs so as we find them we report them to you!
Note: Password issue is fixed, Mahalo! :-)
Thanks for doing this for the kids the parents, and the chess coaches! Also suggest you email schools with chess programs so they can consider this as option for learning and playing chess on-line, in due time like chess.com it will catch on!
Mahalo!
Paco
ATTN:
I'm looking for a few elementary school scholastic chess coaches to help me out. I need to just ask you a few questions and pick your brain a little on how we can spread the word about ChessKid.com to more coaches. I want to know which publications you read, etc.
I'll reward you with a couple of free chess sets for your school!
Message me if you're interested!
Erik
