Why not Knight to f5 then rook to e3?
Hardest mate in 2!!!

Yeah dont believe everything engines say. I think it was Kramnik or Kasparov who played with knight against the engines bishop when the engine allowed his knight to be exchanged for White's bishop
...Qd8+
doesn't prevent mate as king to d5 is still a illegal move because of check from both rook and bishop.
It prevents #2. The check on the White king has to be lifted on White's second move.
Thanks! I didn't see that.
Here you go
I know this is old, but why can’t rook go to b6 instead of c7? Wouldn’t that end up exchanging queens? And rook v knight?
No. 2.Nc5# then ends the game. (And 1...Qd4 attacking both the knight's mating squares allows 2.Re3#.)
Magnus Carlsen loves the Qa8 move and plays it whenever he can. Not sure though of Magnus Carlson's choice

Make the Qa8 move, take it back, and stockfish will correct itself. Stockfish on different site evaluates it correctly. Or set it to higher depth, that also seemed to solve it. It's an issue with this site's stockfish default settings somehow, I've seen it happen with other problems too
Ha, ha, ha, that's sneaky!
