For the first one, what is wrong with rerouting your king to a5, make him play Kb7, play a8=q+ Kxa8 and then play Ka6 and force a win with Kb8 b7? Looks pretty solid to me.

You are right! It is not a good puzzle, just a bit of instructive endgame theory warning you of the dangers of this position.
