This directmate was composed by William Anthony Shinkman and published in St. Louis Globe-Democrat 1887. The original study is cooked, see this for more information.

Interestingly, there's a version, although Chess960, which avoids this cook by Bader Al-Hajiri.

Because it is cooked - which means that there is a second solution, starting with 1.Kd2.
