Nice puzzle. However I feel the variation that you should give is 1.Bd4+ Kh7! 2.Bf5+! Kg8 3.Be6+ Kh7 4.Nf8+ Rxf8 5.exf8N#. The variation is the toughest and the checks by the white bishop are quite subtle.

Yes, that would be much better. As it stands, black moves into mate 1 move quicker than he has to. Puzzles should be made with optimal play by the opponent!
Yes it is true that the mate comes faster because of the first move. I did make a note at the end of the sequence saying that this mate arises from Kingh7 as well. I see Aceofchess's point, but games are not without flaws. I am glad you picked up on the flaw in this puzzle. Thx for the feedback.
