Precision is more important than speed. Don't play the first move you see without checking if it works.
Consider the board position, look for tactical opportunities, and make knight color scans. Try to approach the puzzle as if you don't know the solution is predetermined.
Consider your opponent's last move, identify possible targets and motifs, and examine moves that could be damaging.
Try to do a few puzzles every day, and work on them with focus.
