Really funny combination, but I really didn't enjoy the initial position... Was the puzzle's rating like 8000?
A Mate in 12
I just started with the idea of seeing if it was possible to set up a positon where 4 queens could be sacrificed in mating net - hence the strange initial set up.
Thank you Mickdonedee. It was, to say the least, very pleasing to see the brilliancies when I ran the analysis .
Typical problem of the "patzer sees check" type. Unfortunately it has two more keys for mate in 12 (1.Bh3 and 1.Nxf3), so it can be safely binned.

No, you're wrong the only line that starts M12 is the puzzle line. Perhaps the author needs to mention in the puzzle description that all promotions should be to Queen. No underpromotions. 1. Bh3 is M15 at best and 1. Nxf3 is M16. at best. The reason the puzzle line is quickest to mate is that it includes promotion to Queen x3 times. The other lines you mention have fewer or no promotions. Those lines can still find mate but take a little longer. Also, note that the puzzle line is 100% accurate for both White and Black. Please check your solutions for accuracy. Does your other M12 lines have the same accuracy?

What kind of nonsense is this? There are no "accurate" and "inaccurate" solutions to a chess problem.
And on this one, there are three different key moves, regardless of what you think.

Accuracy is important because if Black plays any move considered by the engine as not Best, then it will recalculate a quicker line for White to reach mate. Please provide those two other lines for M12 and I'll check them by the engine for accuracy.
Quite true. I've ditched many potential puzzles when the engine keeps changing the accuracy of a move each time I review the puzzle for accuracy. I'll post a puzzle when the engine accuracy stablizes and the majority of moves are Best and no worse than Excellent. Excellent moves could actually be Best but Inaccuracies or Mistakes are unlikely to be Best moves. So, I reject puzzles that contain an Inaccuracy, Mistake or Miss.
In this case, there is no evaluation: Checkmate is an absolute result- either there is one (or more) in nn moves, or there is none.

If I'm Black, I can allow White to mate me in fewer moves if I make a poor move. I want to see if there are any sub-optimal (poor) moves in those two other lines you found. Please post the entire lines.
Oh dear. Apologies all round. My very first attempt at this as well and I goofed! The pawn on g2 should be black. Then the solution plays out as before.

For those people who don't have paid membership and can't access Analyze, can you please edit the board and make it a puzzle? Cheers.
Okay here it is in puzzle form.
Still not showing as a puzzle like your first post. It should show White to Move with the Hint and Solution icons showing. Click the Edit icon of your post; select the board; click the Board icon, when the board settings open click Theme and ensure Puzzle is checked; finally click Insert and Post.
I hope you enjoy this.
