Bumping this old thread - I'm in Tucson and would love to play over the board and learn from others this summer! I am interested in both classical and blitz/rapid play, as well as making new friends. Hit me up!

I was just visiting my daughter recently in Tucson. In the lobby (by the bar!) of the Hotel Congress they have tables with chess boards on them and can check out the pieces from the clerk. Played several casual games and had something other than coffee ha ha.

OK, the chess scene is slowly recovering. For those wanting otb play all levels, coffee exchange 6-9 Monday and casa video 6-9 Wednesday it's casual. Also Wednesday same time is East side chess alliance is at the Jewish center. You can Google
