site connectivity

I have received several emails, asking why I don't make chess.com my home site (for a few dollars a month). I would like to; however, I require statistical accuracy, which chess.com can't offer me. I've lost, approximately, half of my, unsuccessful, games to disconnect, due to the unstable nature of the platform. I had been advised (a couple of months ago) that there would be a game recovery function added to the site. I am pleased with the site format; and yet........ Once this is dealt with, chess.com will be the best such site on the web. Then, I will gladly support it!

By supporting chess.com via paid membership, you are enabling their developers to more readily make the improvements you speak of. Sure live chess has some connectivity issues, I am sure the kinks will be worked out in due time. Kinks included, this already is the best chess site on the web. Sorry chessbase :(

There's such aa simple answer to this. STOP USING INTERNET EXPLORER! Get firefox or google chrome. I got chrome a couple of months ago, and I've only been disconnected once since.

The simple answer would be to make it compatible with the browser used by the majority of computer users. I've seen posts by Firefox users saying they still experience the same problems. Saying that you have FEWER disconnections using one browser over the other isn't that impressive. There shouldn't be disconnections. My welcomer said the LiveChess has been operating for 18 months. You'd think that these problems would have been resolved in that time.

I wouldn't say I have fewer disconnections, I'd say I have almost never get d/c. It used to happen all the time, as in several times a day, but with chrome, only once in several months. Thats not just fewer.

But you have got a point, it would be better for the community as a whole, I find my opponent's IE disconnects annoying when I'm having a good game...

These problems should be resolved, until then we'll just have to make do with the disclaimer next to the big green button. Live chess aside, the rest of the site is very good.

I agree that the rest of the site seems pretty good. I have a subscription to another correspondence style site, and it is as good or better. If Live Chess were running smoothly, I would probably consider a paid membership. Until that time, I'm just looking.
