the following is a conversation which just took place on live chess:

agentkuyan: i ve never lost to canadian, you are the worst players in the world
trigs: wow
trigs: wow
trigs: i just read that message
agentkuyan: yeah wow
agentkuyan: are you ofended
trigs: that is very rude
agentkuyan: you should be i want to provoke you
agentkuyan: resign then
trigs: i refuse to play someone who says things like that. sorry
agentkuyan: what are you waiting
agentkuyan: cmon boy

is this normal on live chess? i do not think that such comments should be tolerated.

sambaam

tell the staff. there is a button on the bottom of the screen it says, "report abuse".

alec94x

There is also an ignore button for provocateurs who can't be nice or behave.

Kevindubrow

I guess anonymity is something people here don't give a damn about.

i am not sure what you mean. there is no agreement (that i know of) that prohibits people from posting a conversation that they had with someone which took place on a public forum. it's not like i used his real name or posted his home address or something. if he has attached his real name to his own profile then he should realize that he has even more responsible for his actions, and thus be more courteous towards others.

Did you finished this game?

Remember - we (who plays chess) simply checkmate theese rude guys and this shows that we are stronger then they. We are here to play chess and we must show who is better at chess!

no, i did not finish the game. perhaps you are right though, and maybe next time i will.

chessplooge

actually i was going to just let the time run out, but he resigned to me before that.

Hofstader

This guy is just a fool. He has put up several forum topics recently moaning about this and that and just generally insulting everybody. The admin staff have warned him and I imagine he'll be banned fairly soon

TheOldReb

Well, he's right about Canadian players, so whats the problem?  Are you listening RobertABrown ??!!  Surprised

ASpieboy

Bah. Don't worry about the morons. The worst thing you can do is to say that you are offended, that just gives them what they want. Shrug your shoulders and checkmate them.

orejano

That's why I have chat disabled on live chess....

OpeningGambit

It's not nice - you ought to report him.  It's what I'd do...I see nothing wrong with a) seeking advice in the forums, and b) reporting him.

Lol, I was gonna say that xD. Anyway, yeah thats nothing to be stressed out about trigs, nothing at all, if you get so upset over something as small as that, then you must have never socialized with anyone in the world.

I wouldn't say Canadians are bad at chess but it depends, I'd say the Russians are the most rubbish.

Try telling that to Kasparov, or Karpov, or any other Russian World Chess Champion.

raisingfalcon

suck it!

trigs

this was an old thread around my first experiences with live chess that was "resurrected". when i wrote the original post i was more concerned with whether this was the normal attitude on live chess on chess.com.

after playing here for a while, i now know that most people on here are not like this, so i no longer have any concerns regarding poor behaviour.

ncpharaoh

trig i am sorry that happened to you. Most people here have respect but there are some that don't.

Canadians are the best at fighting while standing on razor sharp blades and wearing protective head gear that's been pulled around our necks so we can't see anything. And we're not bad at trash talking either. But this is the first I've heard of going to a fight and a chess game broke out.
