Why do I always get matched with higher rated players

Yes there’s a option for that... you can set parameters from -25 to -400 or even -inf and from +25 to +400/ +inf. Just go to live chess. Open the settings option, in the ‘play’ tab you’ll find these options that are applicable for both incoming and outgoing challenges.

Of your 378 rapid games, 190 were white and 188 were black. That's close to even.

just learn a great opening against e4 (french, caro kann, sicilian) and d4 (dutch)

All better.  I had my settings at ratings difference = ∞.  LOL...infinity.  No thank you!  Changed it to 50+/- and everything is fine now.  Leaving this post up for anyone who searches for this.

Thanks for the appreciation, people rarely appreciate now-a-days... well originally this was not my thread but I think I should leave it this way... maybe I'll change the title a bit, but not now... 

All my life I always wanted to play against players higher rated than me.  Also liked to play Black.

Loved to play against GMs  That is how you improve your chess skill.. 

However=-to each his own.

I honestly think it gets set in a loop. i had 7 games in a row of higher rated even though i have mine set so it should give me a better range. And in other days it was the opposite. I'm a softoware engineer, and I think its a poor random generator.

I play the French after e4, King's Indian after d4, and everything else I just go with my gut.
