Live Chess Quality

Just a survey...not to say anything bad about the free members. I noticed the quality of live chess games goes up if you are on a paying site like Internet Chess Club. I am all for free stuff but was just curiuos if anyone else thinks there should be an exclusive area on live chess for paying members. An area free of imature chat. I have only started to play live chess on this site and noticed that most of it is filled with rude insulting chat (maybe it is all in good fun and maybe I am getting too old to understand the humor but it just comes across to me as rude). I am all for freedom of speech and would not stop this. I just want an area where paying members can go and play serious chess and also keep the free live chess available too. I know some paying members can be rude too but for the most part if you pay for chess then you are likely to take it to a higher level versus just making it a social party. Anyone agree?

I believe that this has been discussed and chess.com will make it at some point.

I use the settings tab on live chess to disable game chat.

How about an option for you to turn off your opponents chat?  That's what the poker sites do.  Cause I agree about abusive chat.

^ Already a feature.

ok.  I don't really play.  Just leaning.  But good to know.

absolutely agree. And what I do - disable game chat right after the first opponents' phrase which I consider impolite or abusive.

I always wonder if a chat abuser would say those same things if players were face to face.  Probably not.  Gutless people hiding behind their computer screens.  Block chat and move on.

I have suggested in the past that livechess should only allow chat to paying members. It would solve a lot of problems.
