App, because I'm a kid and my dad has Apple Pay set up oh his phone. It was easier. (also I got the iOS achievement)

That is likely the reason. The app purchase process requires some manual steps and that probably doesn't trigger the achievement.

I also have the same problem. I recently purchased a diamond membership on the app but did not receive the award for it.
