Your opponent can't impact your connection at all. There is a known bug in the previous iOS app; there is an updated app that came out yesterday, so you should update if you haven't already.

Martin_Stahl,

Can you advise on (i) how to force an update, as I've tried deleting/installing to get latest version, and still get problems ? (ii) I've had - frozen clocks (both players), moving clock- mine - but could not move piece, moving clock  - opponent's  - and he/she could not move piece, and able to chat all the time i.e. if it's wifi, I should not be able to chat. I've worked in IT and it smells like programming problems, possibly network related e.g. 12,000 games running on a system which can handle 10,000 i.e. it misses out on polling your game, because other games are more active etc.

Had same problem. On an iphone. Sometimes I see my clock keep moving although I have made the move. Other times both clocks not moving. Either way I end up loosing on time or abandonment. Happened three times the last few days

This just happened to me so still an issue even now. On PC, had mate in 4, opponent stopped making moves, I went to analyse after and play through the mate and saw it say I lost due to abandonment!

Apparently my queen to d8 move didn't register

Worst thing ever , still not fixed, it is not even showing you are disconnected if it is the case

I had the same issue the oppenent could not move and the time ran down to 5 seconds then they moved. Their left over seconds changed to my available time instead of theirs. Systemic?

You got disconnected from the live server.

That means your move never reached the server and likely indicates a disconnect

And whatever happened to the bug they discovered in December? Has it been fixed?
